San Miguel de Allende

There is nothing quite like San Miguel de Allende, known for its baroque architecture, arts and the many festivals. San Miguel is located in the center of Mexico, fours drive from Mexico city.

 Best time to go

There is no bad time to go to San Miguel. Winter is high season, warm during the day and cool at night. Summer will rain once a day for about an hour or two. Spring and Fall are festival season. The days are warm not reaching below 70F degrees and the nights are cool in the low 60F degrees.

 

What to know before you go

San Miguel is a city to explore the wonderful streets by foot so bring some shoes that can take the cobblestone streets. Taxis are available, as are buses. Good 24 hrs taxi company- 154-0737 (local). Graciella is the day radio operator.

 How to get there

Go to El Jardin (the town square, the garden) for a coffee, ice cream and take in the Mariachi music in the evenings.
